Hearing loss is a major problem for both the aging population and the younger population that is heavily reliant on earphones, airpods, and other devices that can be harmful to our hearing.
While technology has resulted in great advances and opportunities for hearing gain, the perception and response to hearing loss lags behind. Few people seek a hearing screening on a regular basis and may simply ignore their hearing’s decline. Recent research shows that hearing loss is linked to depression, cognitive decline, falls, and isolation. The Hearing Industries Association (HIA), in collaboration with the hearing professional groups and consumer groups created the Hear Well, Stay Vital campaign. With broadcast-ready videos in hand, HIA relied on Five Ones to launch the message and pitch the new message nationally during Better Hearing Month to garner in-kind media through Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
